Abstract
Asthma is a common disease in children and can be defined as a reversible bronchial obstruction. In spite of many effective anti-asthmatic drugs the mortality, although rare, continue to increase including cases of sudden deaths. The possible causes are intense bronchopulmonary constriction with tremendous increased pulmonary resistance and complications such as bronchopneumonia, cor-pulmonal, pneumothorax and aspiration.
Unfortunately the auther experienced a sudden death in 31 month-old female asthma patient complicated with pneumonia. Referential literatures were reviewed.
